The CreatureKind Course: Online
Join CreatureKind Co-Director of Community Development, Rev. Aline Silva, and others for this weekly Bible Study.
Through videos, short readings, lots of dialogue, and online community meals, the CreatureKind Course for Churches: Online will encourage Christians to consider what we believe about God’s creatures and how we might move toward living out those beliefs as members of the body of Christ.
Participants will meet for 90 minutes, once a week, over the course of six weeks. Participants will gather online as a CreatureKind community to ask important questions of our traditions, each other, and biblical texts about the care for farmed animal welfare, for creation, and for those working in industrial agriculture. We will do this via videos, texts, discussions, and by sharing meals together.
The virtual community meals will be shared during the third part of our time together each week. CreatureKind promotes a DefaultVeg approach to these meals as a simple, affordable, and inclusive way to help Christians and Christian communities reduce their environmental footprint, care for the welfare of farmed animals, support small farmers, and demonstrate our stewardship of creation in the meals we share.
In an effort to maintain the integrity of the course’s design, we’d like to keep the group small. This means that we will limit the group to the first ten people who register, and ask that when you sign up you commit to coming to all six sessions. Our first cohort is closed. Please use the brief form to indicate your interest in learning about the next cohort.
